Congratulations to retired Belleville educator on taking home $28,822.50!

Bernice Campbell of Belleville is the lucky winner of the ALCDSB’s third 50/50 raffle this year, taking home a whopping $28,822.50 just in time for the holidays! Bernice officially retired from Loyola, School of Adult and Continuing Education, but is still involved with the school community.

She says she purchased the tickets as a dare from one of her friends.

“I hesitated but decided to participate in the 50/50 raffle because I know how important the Foundation is. As a former ALCDSB educator, I have firsthand knowledge that struggling Loyola students benefitted from the generosity of the Foundation," said Bernice Campbell. "So, essentially, I decided to participate as a way to give back for all the good that I've seen the Foundation do in the past."

A huge congratulations to Bernice!

The total pot closed at $57,645.00. To date, the three raffles in 2025 raised $59,814.19 for the Algonquin & Lakeshore Catholic Education Foundation, a charity that supports students and their families in need of urgent financial assistance.
